Random Musings about the end of another school year

Hey all. I know that for most, it's more of a beginning of a school year than an end to one. Well, for me, it's both. Today marks the last day of the school year at the preschool I work at. Tomorrow is our "clean like mad because Open House is Saturday" day. And Monday is the start of our new school year.

I don't know if every preschool is like that or not, but it sure is super crazy for us. It's bittersweet to have an ending this week. There are some of the kids who I will miss more than others. And, admittedly, I'm totally okay with some of the others moving on to the next class. In a way, I'm moving up with them.

There have been a lot of changes and things happening in my life the past few weeks. My husband's surgery, editing books, ending a school year, having to replace a tire on my husband's car, my getting sick.... the list goes on. I feel like I need a super long vacation, which I know I won't be getting any time soon.

Though my tenure as a preschool teacher hasn't necessarily landed me any story ideas (on that venture), it's been an interesting ride so far. Admittedly, I'd like to have the time, now, to settle down and get into some serious writing, instead of catching what moments I can to do so. But, that is not yet to be, though I hope it will be soon.

Not sure what this new school year will bring, other than a change in my work schedule. I get to work the last shift instead of one of the middle, but at least my hubby now has a day job instead of a night job, so that helps out just a little.

I've had some ideas for the third book in my dragon series. (Still waiting to hear back from the agent on that one.) And I hope I can get those ideas down on paper soon. It's just been so hectic and stressful that my inner three-year-old is having temper tantrums. Not the best of circumstances, if you ask me. But it is what it is.

Any who, my time this morning is short and I need to finish getting ready for this last day of this school year.....Keep writing!

A Big Thank You

I want to offer a big thank you to all who entered my Goodreads giveaway. Over a thousand people entered! Those who have won a copy of my book should expect to receiver it in the next week or so, as I sent them out Friday morning.

Also, thank you to those who helped promote my sale of Kas, the ebook version this past week. I got more downloads than I have previously had.

And now, for what's been going on in my life.

The past two weeks have been more than hectic for me. And I don't just mean because of sales promotions, giveaways, and blog posts (which you can read under the reviews section). I had a major event take place.

My husband had an emergency appendectomy a little over a week ago. From what I understand, things got pretty close and I'm just glad we caught it in time. Unfortunately, I've been a bit of a wreck because of this and have neglected to really post anything, but I'm trying to get back into the groove of things.

There have been some small blessing with this rather scary event. My husband is getting a new job, which we have been waiting to have happen for some time. Then, of course, I had this amazing turnout for my book on Goodreads and in sales. Now I'm just crossing fingers that this good streak will continue and I can nab the agent I'm hoping to get for Tarragon.

While going Indie has been very educational and just an amazing adventure, I really do want to try my hand at the traditional end. So, my fingers are crossed to get good news by the end of this month. I would love it if everyone would cross fingers/pray for this to happen, as I really have great faith in this series. But if it's not meant to be, please do expect me to publish it myself this coming year, around April or May, as previously planned.

Well, that's all I have for this time around but I hope to have more next time I update!

My A B C's (in case you wanted to get to know me a bit better)

I found this on one of my friend's profiles on facebook (yes, facebook), and thought, hey, why not? So, if you dare learn a bit more about me, here are my A B C's

H- Hometown: A little city outside of Cedar City, in the great state of Utah.

I- In love with: My hubby!

R- Reason to smile: My family, happy thoughts, nature, accomplishing something

S- Song last sang: probably Rachel Platten's Fight Song. (I sing along to the radio.)
