Author Visits

Literacy is an important part of any child's education, which is why I love working with children. As a former preschool teacher, I have a lot of experience with younger audiences and have always loved sharing with them my love for reading and writing.

Each child's needs are as unique as a snowflake and I try to help bring out that uniqueness with a series of different presentations and workshops available for children of all ages. Each age requires different means for presentation, and I am more than willing to adapt as necessary for each age group.

Understandably, older students will want something more hands on and informative, while younger audiences will want something that entertains while still imbuing them with valuable lessons they can take into their continuing education. It is my goal to try and help stimulate that desire to create and appreciate the written word.

Having written and illustrated several children's books, as well as many young adult novels, I hope you will find me well qualified to not only aide in supplementing the core curriculum, but to help encourage greater self-esteem and acceptance of others and their differences, something that is as valuable in real life as it is in the writing world. I hope to teach that we can share and celebrate our differences in writing. Just as there are a multitude of genres, there are an innumerable variety of individuals out there who all want to feel accepted. I believe writing can give them that.
