On venturing into potential publishing

Greetings all. I know I don't post as often as I should, or as often as I would like. That being said, I hope I can post a lot more often. But, as times would have it, being a full time preschool teacher, a voice acting director, and a writer, sometimes it becomes a little more difficult.

However! (Yes, I did use that exclamation point.) I am hoping to be able to release at least a short story for Halloween via ebook format. I'm working on revamping a story I wrote back in my public school days (aka eight grade), that I hope to get out there. It's a horror/thriller type story. Part of me wonders how I could have written that when I was so young, because, honestly, it's a bit intense for that age. But hey, it happens.

Also, I am very seriously contemplating self-publishing my "Elf" book, The Unknown Elf. I would like to see if I can get it out for this Christmas holiday season. I know that's not a lot of time, but I'm working on getting materials together to create a cover, and to get the proper formatting for publication. Mohamed didn't want to go to the mountain so I'm trying to bring the mountain to him, in a manner of speaking.

For those who don't know about my elf book, the story follows the experiences of an elf named Marie.  Here's my little blurb about the story.

Marie never expected to wake up in North Pole City, let alone become Santa’s Emergency Replacement. It was a job she never wanted but couldn’t turn down, thanks to Clarence, Santa’s right hand man.

Now, Marie has to work with Clarence, who believes she is some kind of criminal who will cause the destruction of everything he holds dear. Trying to prove that he’s wrong, Marie keeps making mistakes that push them even further apart. It doesn’t help that she has a past she’d rather keep hidden. However, trying to keep her past where it should belong isn’t easy.

Just when Marie starts to feel like things are coming together, a madman with a bone to pick, and Christmas to ruin, threatens the whole of the North Pole Organization. Marie must rely on Clarence and her new friends to help her face her past before Christmas is gone forever.  But does she have the courage to truly be herself when it could mean losing everything?
